3. Burj Khalifa in Dubai

The Burk Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, and it is made out of reinforced steel. 5. Taipei 101 Tower in Taiwan

This neat-looking tower in Taiwan, formerly known as the Taipei Financial Trade Center, used to be the world’s tallest building until Burj Khalifa came along. The name, Taipei 101 Tower signifies the number of floors in the building, and this tower accurately represents how strong steel buildings can be. It is a giant among its fellow buildings and houses one of the fastest elevators on earth.

6. Investcorp Building in St. Anthony’s College, Oxford

This 1200 square meters space building, which constitutes a library, lecture theatre, and archive looks gorgeous with its smooth curve made of stainless steel. Now open to the public for touring, it has become a major attraction at St. Anthony College.

7. The Steel House in Texas

A sculptor named Robert Bruno spent 23 years building a house of steel for himself. Unfortunately, he never got to put the finishing touches and move in. He died in 2008, and it seems like completion of this project was not part of his estate plan. The extraordinary handiwork still stands and has become a famous landmark in Lubbock, Texas.

8. Aon Center in Chicago

This 88-story skyscraper in Chicago is the home to a world-famous insurance broker, Aon. The tubular steel frame of the building protects it from earthquakes and other weather anomalies. It is the third-largest steel-reinforced building in the world.

9. The New York Times Tower

At a height of 319 meters, the New York Times tower is perhaps one of the most dynamic buildings ever witnessed. It incorporates a range of green features, such as a dimmable light system, double skin curtain walls, and an underfloor air distribution system.

Farm owners need several individual buildings to house different kinds of livestock and various agriculture equipment. Depending on the size of land and demand for production, they may require multiple barns, sheds, and storage rooms. Farm animals, heavy machinery like tractors, and other harvesting gear do not come cheap. Therefore, it is crucial that all these valuables are protected from damage and theft. In the past, conventional building materials like wood and stone were the only feasible options. Despite being true and tried, they have not always proved to be the best tools for shelter. Steel structures are rapidly gaining popularity due to their added durability, strength, and convenience.

All-weather Resistance

Agricultural areas are generally located in areas that encounter extreme temperatures; you could be dealing with melting heat, pouring rain, freezing cold, intense humidity, or a hailstorm for several days in a row. Keeping the livestock warm and equipment dry is usually the priority for farmers worldwide. Steel sheds and compartments are more than ideal for the purpose. Steel buildings are easy to insulate, which means they can be kept warm in the winters and cool in the summers. Artificial heating and cooling systems can be easily incorporated to achieve an optimum climate.

 

 

Modern steel structures are laminated or coated with substances that prevent rusting. As a result, they are practically impenetrable and effectively resist moisture. The hardness and tensile strength of steel allows it to withstand strong winds, and the high boiling point protects it from damage caused by heat or fire. Steel does not disintegrate like conventional materials, so old steel does not need to be dumped in the landfills; it can always be recycled and its integrity is restored.
